中国・杭州で開催されるアジア競技大会では、eスポーツ選手が初めてメダルを獲得する機会があります。

9月23日に始まるこのイベントでは、7つのゲームでプレイヤーが競い合います。EA Sports FC、PUBG Mobile、Arena of Valor、Dota 2、League of Legends、Dream Three Kingdoms 2、Street Fighter Vです。

これは、eスポーツが2018年のアジア競技大会でデモ競技にすぎなかったものが、「本物の」スポーツとして認識されることを意味します。
